CATHXCREATIONS | Catherine Rippy
Hello, and welcome to my 'About Me' page. I'm Catherine Rippy, the artist behind CATHXCREATIONS.
I specialize in doing makeup for commercial and editorial projects, and my style focuses on natural, no-makeup makeup looks and editorial makeup.
For me, the objective of makeup artistry is completing the overall narrative of a project and complimenting the other visual elements involved in telling the story.
My artistic approach to makeup for commercial and e-commerce projects can be visually described as skin-focused and minimalistic. I'm often inspired by the makeup in campaigns from brands like MERIT, Mejuri, Alo Yoga, and Lululemon─where the makeup the models are wearing isn't attention-grabbing, but barely visible and serves to enhance and polish the overall visual aesthetic of the images.

To me, editorial makeup artistry is about creating a character and being able to tell part of their story visually through the makeup they're wearing. My inspiration for editorial work is often a combination of Thierry Mugler's runway work, the work of other creatives and artists, and my experimentation with new cosmetic products and trends, and I often work closely with creative directors, designers, and other artists on editorial concepts to bring our joint vision to life.
